- AI Object Replacer for Focused Swaps
Replace an existing object
AI object replacer for one deliberate swap
Keep the room, table or composition and try a different item in the same place. An AI object replacer takes an existing object as the starting location, then generates the alternative you describe. A short vase can become a glass tumbler, or a plain cushion can become a patterned one. Explain the replacement's size and material, then judge how it sits in the scene.
Your original stays separate · Review the price before generating
Basic edits are free. AI images start at 10 credits with these settings. Review the price on the canvas before generating.
Before you start
An AI object replacer swaps a visible item for a generated alternative. Identify the old object, describe the new object's appearance and scale, and preserve nearby details in the request. Review the object's contact with the surface, perspective and overlap. A generated replacement is not an exact reproduction of a catalog product.
Replace something that already has a place
An AI object replacer begins with a useful spatial clue: the old object already occupies a location. That does not mean the new object should have the same outline. A narrow vase and a wide bowl need different footprints. Describe which relationship stays fixed, such as centered on the side table, and which dimensions should change.
Use the AI object replacer when an item in the photo should become something else. Use addition when an empty area needs a new object, or removal when the area should be clear. Keeping that distinction in the brief avoids asking the system to preserve an old outline while also inventing an incompatible shape.
Give the AI object replacer a spatial brief
Start with the old item: the tall white vase beside the window. Then name the replacement: a short clear tumbler, roughly half the vase's height. Finish with its placement and the details to keep. Relative size is usually more useful in a photograph than a measurement with no visible scale reference.
For the AI object replacer, material affects more than color. Clear glass should transmit some of the background; polished metal reflects the room; fabric has folds and softer highlights. Choose the material you actually want rather than relying on a style word such as elegant. If a replacement needs a particular shape, describe the rim, base or silhouette that makes it recognizable.
Give reference images a specific role
A reference can explain an object's appearance when words are insufficient. Keep the scene photograph as the main image and identify the reference as the item to introduce. If you provide several pictures, explain which supplies the object, which supplies a color and which shows a desired arrangement.
An AI object replacer can use that guidance without promising a pixel-exact copy. A logo, engraving, handle curve or measurement may still drift. For a commercial product, compare the result with the physical item and the reference image before using it as a representation of what someone will receive. Avoid treating a plausible generated variant as verified product photography.
Test the replacement as one complete scene
Illustrative prompt, not a tested output: "Replace the tall vase on the side table with a short amber glass tumbler, about half its height. Keep it centered on the same tabletop. Match the soft window light from the left and preserve the books, table edge and wall."
Open the source and any reference
Use JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC up to 20MB per file. Identify the original scene as the main image and explain any reference image's role.
Describe the complete swap
Name both objects and specify the relationship to the surface. Include the relevant light direction and any nearby details that should remain.
Check the footprint before style
First see whether the new item is in the correct place and believable at that scale. Then inspect its material and decorative details. A stylish object in the wrong perspective still needs revision.
Look where the new object touches the scene
The contact point often reveals a weak replacement. A cup should meet the table rather than hover above it. Its cast shadow should start near the base and agree with the existing light. If the previous vase cast a long shadow, make sure that shadow has not survived beneath a much shorter object.
Occlusion is the order in which things overlap. If a book sits in front of the replacement, the book's edge should remain in front. If the new item is wider, it may reasonably cover more of the wall behind it. The AI object replacer needs enough context to interpret those relationships, and the final result needs a human check.
| Relationship | What to inspect | Example problem |
|---|---|---|
| Object and tabletop | Contact edge and shadow origin | A base floating above the surface |
| Object and camera | Visible top, sides and perspective | A rim seen from an incompatible angle |
| Object and neighbor | Correct overlap order | A book blending into the new glass |
| Object and light | Highlight side and shadow direction | Bright highlights facing away from the window |
Preserve the parts that make the original worth keeping
A replacement brief can become a broad redesign if it includes a new mood, a new room and several accessories. Start by identifying what you like about the source. The AI object replacer should serve that composition, whether it is a balanced still life or a room photograph with an established focal point.
After the swap, compare distant details as well as the target area. Check wall lines, books, printed text and any people in the scene. If those elements changed, return to the source before exploring another variant. A preservation instruction is a requirement to review, not an assurance that every unmentioned pixel will remain identical.
Budget for alternatives you choose to generate
One AI object replacer task returns one image. Generation costs 10 credits at 1K, 20 at 2K or 30 at 4K, with Auto normally starting at 1K. Internal retries do not add a separate charge. Asking for a second object or a different style in a new submission starts another paid task.
Compare alternatives from the same original where possible. Selecting an existing version is free and leaves the other versions available. If a new result has the right placement but you want a different color, decide whether that accepted version should become the next source. If its geometry is wrong, starting from the original makes the next comparison clearer.
Choose the version that communicates the intended idea
A replacement can be technically plausible and still make the photograph less useful. Check whether the new object competes with the subject or blocks important empty space. For an interior concept, make clear that the image is a visualization. For a product image, verify the details needed for an accurate representation.
Export PNG, JPG or WebP after the full-scene review. Use free basic cropping or resizing for the final delivery. If the next step is to add a prop elsewhere in the composition, use the addition workflow. If you only need another color on the same object, a focused recolor brief keeps that next task narrower than another AI object replacer request.
Example request
Replace the tall vase with a short clear glass tumbler in the same position. Match the table perspective and left-side daylight; keep the books and wall unchanged.
Adapt the subject and details to your image. This is a starting instruction, not a sample result.
Questions about this edit
Can the AI object replacer copy a product exactly?
A reference guides the replacement, but exact geometry, logos, text and materials are not guaranteed. Check the generated item against the source and actual product. Use an accurate original photograph when small differences would misrepresent the item.
Can the replacement be larger than the original?
Describe the desired size relative to visible objects and explain what may be covered. A wider item may need a broader edit region and a different shadow. Review the surrounding surface after generation because more of it may need reconstruction.
Does the AI object replacer keep the same background?
Ask to preserve the background and name the nearby features that matter. Inspect both the edit boundary and the wider scene. Replacement can affect adjacent content, especially when the new object has a substantially different shape or transparency.
What if I want to insert an item into an empty area?
Use Add Object to Photo and describe the empty location, scale and surface. Replacement is most useful when you can point to an existing item that should go. The two workflows have different starting conditions even though both generate new objects.
